    Major progress on this PT6 powered Lancair Legacy. Major progress on this PT6 powered Lancair Legacy. This engine has been down on performance which has been quite the mystery. Knowing the last major part to test required engine removal. Turns out it was worth it! Crush/split O-ring (not installed by me) on the bleed air blow off valve, sometimes called a check valve. Fixing this got the performance back at lower fuel flow than the old engine! Success. #pt6 #lancair #lancairlegacy #homebuiltaircraft

I changed the plumbing for the ADI nozzles from push-to-connect to -3 Teflon hoses. The push to connect always gave me trouble, can't take the heat. @sportclassairracing @methodsevenpilot

    Why not use my $20k 3D scanner, $5k 3D printer, $3 Why not use my $20k 3D scanner, $5k 3D printer, $3k cad software to turn $3 worth of plastic into covers so I can save $150 on shipping. Seems reasonable.. With the long charge pipe on the compressor housings, long wastegate pipes on the turbine housings, not to mention all that weight, I figured I could lean it down and still get the overhaul done with @boostlab.
    While attending PRTC (pylon race training camp) #7 While attending PRTC (pylon race training camp) #77 suffered a significant engine anomaly which has yet to be determined. It shook hard enough to fail the spinner bulkhead. In an absolute marathon move, Kent and Brenda flew their Epsilon home to Florida, got the truck and trailer, drove to NM, loaded the airplane, hauled it to Missouri (to me) then continued on with the prop back to Florida. Now the hard part, figure out what happened. #77 is earning her name everyday, 'High Maintenance'.

    Doing some maintenance prior to @sportclassairraci Doing some maintenance prior to @sportclassairracing PRTC (race training) next week and I found a crack in the hydraulic pump reservoir. I figured while I have it out, overhaul the pump which I had actually not done on this airplane since I built it. I found the internal spool valve had been installed backwards at the factory. Thanks to @shodeypilot for the seal kit and great manual. My #3dprint AN caps working here. So handy to have around.. #lancair #lancairlegacy #homebuiltaircraft

    Last week I went back to our old stomping grounds, Last week I went back to our old stomping grounds, Stead Airport in Reno NV, to check up on Race #44 which I rebuilt a couple years ago. The airplane is in great shape and the engine is doing well. I only had time for a short test flight but it made the trip worth it. Getting to handle some of the most powerful @sportclassairracing race airplanes is a real treat. (when they run well anyway..) Thanks to @lcnmrv8r for coming along and getting it done!
